"Filters are great but great skin is better!"
Girl, your skin is your best friend and you need to treat her well. In case you have not heard about double cleansing, it is the act of washing your face with two different cleansers. Many people have raved about the effectiveness of using two types of cleansers to wash their faces when doing their daily skincare routine.
Well, I tried double cleansing for a while and loved it but I began to add more cleansers to my skincare routine given that my skin is acne prone and latches on to any debris. I finally stuck with three staple products that did wonders to my skin. I get less acne and my hyperpigmentation has cleared out. Double cleansing is great but triple cleansing will have your skin looking flawless. Keep reading to learn more about this cleansing method that involves an extra step so you can get that glass looking skin.
Each cleanser has its own purpose
When you triple cleanse, your first cleanser should be oil based. Its purpose is to break down any makeup and remove dirt on your skin. Then, your second cleanser should be one that fights acne or water based. This one thoroughly cleanses your skin and removes excess oils that tend to clog pores. The last cleanser that you will use is one that targets specific areas of concerns for your skin.
This method of cleansing can be very drying to your face so only do this once a day. If you skip days, it is okay, you can triple cleanse it the next day.
How it’s done
First, apply the oil based cleanser to your palm and use your fingers to gently massage it to your skin using circular motions for about 30 seconds. Second, rinse your face with a warm washcloth or your hands with mildly cold to lukewarm water. Lastly, repeat with your other cleansers.
Make sure to follow triple cleansing with a good moisturizer (oil free if your skin is acne prone) and sunscreen if you do it in the morning. If you choose to triple cleanse at night, apply a toner and a hydrating serum right after. Then, apply a good moisturizer to keep your face hydrated all night.
You will wake up in the morning with a refreshed face and a clearer skin.
